For this blog assignment you will need to read the following article and watch the video to answer the questions.  Remember questions must be answered in complete sentences.  This assignment is due by 10:00 PM Sunday 05 May 2013.

Article "Gut bugs linked to heart attacks, strokes"

Questions:

1.  What is the substance bacteria produce that scientist claim can promote heart disease (give abbreviation and name)?

2.  How does this substance cause heart disease?

3.  Which foods cause the gut to produce high levels of TMAO?

4.  What did you learn from these articles and how does it affect how you eat?

1) TMAO- trimethylamine N-oxide
2) It enters the arsenal of blood which could lead to cardiovascular problems.
3) Egg yolk, liver, pork, and wheat germ.
4) this article has shown me that most of the things we eat could also be harmful to our health, and eating much of some food could trigger harmful bacteria in our body

1. Scientists say lecithin turns into TMAO, or trimethylamine-N-oxide, causing heart attacks.
2. TMAO first causes atherosclerosis by making blood cholesterol clog artery walls, then rupture and block the artery.
3. Things like egg yolks, liver, beef, pork, and wheat germ contains the nutrient that turns into TMAO.
4. I don't really eat eggs or dairy that much, but this article shows that even if a food is supposed to be good for you, it could also kill you. Everyone's bodies work differently and may not be affected, but others may to more sensitive to a chemical. We must be careful of what we eat.

1. It's TMAO or its name trimethylamine-N-oxide.
2. TMAO clogs the artery walls which cause atherosclerosis and even heart attacks.
3. Products like egg yolks, liver, beef, pork, and wheat germ has TMAO in them.
4. I learned some ways that i can avoid eating high level of TMAO just by watching what i eat.

1) The substance that promotes heart disease is called TMAO but it’s also known as trimethylamine-N-oxide.

2) Once the lecithin as been transformed, it begins to clog up our arteries. When our arteries get clogged it can cause problems in our cardiovascular system. This will eventually end in a heart attack or stroke.

3) The foods that have the highest levels of TMAO are in egg yolks, liver, beef, pork and wheat germ

4) I Learned that I need to be careful about what I eat because ill never know what’s in it or if itll harm me if I don’t look it up or ask someone.

1. trimethylamine N-oxide
2.it would enter the blood stream and that may lead to cardiovascular problems later
3.liver, egg yolk ,wheat germ, pork
4.a lot of the food we are eating now can led to lots of problems in our health and that we should be careful of the things we digest

1.TMAO or trimethylamine-N-oxide is the bacteria causing heart disease.
2 The bugs in the lecithin in the food we eat is turned into TMAO.
3. Meats and dairy products produce high level of TMAO.
4. I learned that red meat is very unhealthy for you and i need to eat more fish and vegetables.

1.TMAO or trimethylamine-N-oxide

2. It causes blood cholesterol to build up on artery walls, and this causes atherosclerosis and in some cases even a stroke or heart attack.

3.Egg yolks, and pork and beef

4. I learned all about what TMAO is and what it can do to our bodies and how we need to watch what we eat because it can be the death of us.

2. TMAO is an artery-clogging compound which can cause you to have a heart attack
3. The foods are egg yolks, liver, beef, pork and wheat germ
4. I learned that you need to watch what you eat and how often you eat it. and eat it in moderation.

1. TMAO is the substance bacteria produce that scientist say can promote heart disease.
2. It causes heart disease by the rupturing and blocking of the artery from hardening of blood cholesterol build up on the artery walls.
3. Foods that contain a lot of lecithin, like beef, pork, or eggs, can cause high production of TMAO.
4.I learned that we should never eat too much of something because it isn't always good for us, and it will change how I eat by me paying attention to my intake of those foods.

1. Scientists say that the bacteria substance, TMAO(trimethylamine-N-oxide), can promote heart disease.
2. TMAO makes blood cholesterol form on the arteries's walls, which causes the arteries to harden.
3. Egg yolks, pork, beef, liver, and wheat germs causes the gut to make high levels of TMAO.
4. We should be careful about the foods we put in our body, and limit the types of food we eat daily.

1. trimethylamine aka TMAO.
2.It causes heart disease because it's an artery-clogging compound, meaning it blocks the artery from receiving blood, and cholesterol builds up on the artery walls.
3.specificly egg yolks, beef, pork, liver, and items containing wheat germ.
4.i learned that we should definitely watch what we eat, especially as young people. if we discipline ourselves now, it'll be lesser problems for the future.

1.)The substance that scientist think is promoting heart disease is TMAO or called trimethylamine-N-oxide.

2.)It causes heart disease by an artery-clogging compound.

3.)The foods that casue TMAO are nutrients in egg yolks, liver, beef, pork and wheat germ.

4.)This has definately changed my opinion on what I eat on a daily basis and my intakes because now I kind of know the possibilities of what can happen to me as well my body.So i will definately try to eat better with more fruits and vegetables and less salty foods.

1. TMAO a substance found in the egg yok, liver, beef, pork and wheat germ that causes artery clogging. Which casues the following: heart attack, stroke or death.

2. TMOA causes heart attacks by an artery-clogging compound

3.The foods are egg yolks, liver, beef, pork and wheat germ, which have high levels of TMAO.

4. This article really proved to me that everything that i happen to intake daily isnt as good as i believe it is. It has also taught me to watch out for certail food that have high levels of TMAO. At my age as many people know its not uncommon for young people having heart attacks and such.
